Federal Cybersecurity Funding Available for MS-ISAC Membership, Expanding Cyber Defenses for State and Local Governments
Recent clarification provides a clear path for organizations to use SLCGP funding to strengthen cyber resilience through MS-ISAC resources and services.
CLIFTON PARK, NY, UNITED STATES, October 15, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Center for Internet Security, Inc. (CIS®) today announced that state and local government organizations eligible for the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) can apply those funds toward membership to the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC®) as well as additional MS-ISAC products and services, offering state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) governments with a valuable opportunity to strengthen their cybersecurity capabilities.
The clarification provides greater certainty for governments seeking cost-effective cybersecurity solutions as cyber threats continue to escalate and public-sector budgets remain constrained. MS-ISAC membership provides access to a broad range of cybersecurity capabilities through a trusted community purpose-built for the unique needs of state and local government organizations, K-12 schools, public utilities, public safety organizations and more.
"Cybersecurity remains one of the most significant operational challenges facing government organizations today," said Carlos Kizzee, Senior Vice President of MS-ISAC Strategy and Plans. "Through a single MS-ISAC membership, organizations can access services, threat information, and expert support that could otherwise require multiple commercial contracts, helping to maximize limited cybersecurity budgets. This enables jurisdictions to improve cyber resilience, strengthen preparedness, and support the delivery of essential public services."
To support organizations interested in leveraging SLCGP funding, CIS is developing resources to help grant recipients understand eligibility requirements, procurement considerations, and implementation options for incorporating MS-ISAC membership and services into their cybersecurity plans.
The forthcoming guidance will provide a straightforward pathway for organizations seeking to align cybersecurity priorities with available grant funding and accelerate adoption of proven cybersecurity capabilities.
For additional information on the revised SLCGP guidance, see FEMA Information Bulletin 588.
