Launch of the Higher Education Learning Innovation Lab (HEILAB)

The transformation of higher education goes beyond the adoption of new technologies, methodologies, or teaching tools. It requires creating opportunities for educators, researchers, and institutions to engage in continuous learning, exchange experiences, reflect on their practices, and collectively generate knowledge.

In a context shaped by challenges such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, personalized learning, inclusion, and the strengthening of teaching competencies, there is an increasing need for collaborative spaces that enable stakeholders to share lessons learned and develop innovative responses to common challenges.

With this purpose, UNESCO IESALC and the University Pedagogies Centre (CPU) are launching the Higher Education Learning Innovation Lab (HEILAB), an open space for dialogue, experimentation, collaboration, and knowledge management designed to foster innovation and learning in higher education.

More than a platform for showcasing experiences, HEILAB aims to build an active learning community that connects educators, researchers, academic leaders, and institutions interested in exploring new pedagogical practices, co-creating knowledge, and strengthening networks of collaboration.

During the launch event, participants will learn about the initiative's objectives, areas of work, and opportunities for engagement. HEILAB seeks to move beyond a model of simply “sharing good practices” towards one of “learning together through practice,” promoting more sustainable, collaborative, and impactful approaches to educational innovation.
